First fase.
For my first fase of research I wanted to know more about gender in the west and it's obsession with connecting gender to the color blue and pink.
I research about how kids clothes used to be neutral, and then trough capitalism and the industrial revolution, became a marketing tactic to sell people more clothes for their babies, and then trends continued these color constructs.

Internalization
Internalization is a belief or a behavior that someone has absorbed and made part of themselves by being exposed to it. In some cases the internalization of a belief can be irreversible. For example a situation in which a person who is assigned male at birth no longer has any awareness or idea on how it came to be that he despises the color pink as much as he does and is no longer able to differentiate the internalization of the gender norms from a preference that comes as natural as what food you likes.

Lev Vygotsky describes the process of internalization in 3 steps. First the outside source that is making the person for example think that pink is a girl color, this can be media, role models, parents, friends etc. This affects the way the person sees themselves, sees others and their relationship to them. Which then becomes a way of thinking for the person that feel like this belief in inherent.

"An operation that initially represents an external activity is reconstructed and begins to occur internally.

An interpersonal process is transformed into an intrapersonal one.

The transformation of an interpersonal process into an intrapersonal one is the result of a long series of developmental events.

This belief, bases on cultural, gender, sexuality, class, personality type and life events can in some cases not changed anymore and has become part of the person."
